Report: Nuggets are actively looking around to see what they can get for Kenneth Faried, Emmanuel Mudiay, Wilson Chandler
The Denver Nuggets are reportedly actively shopping guard Emmanuel Mudiay and forwards Kenneth Faried and Wilson Chandler ahead of Thursday's 3 p.m. ET NBA trade deadline. According to ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski, the Nuggets are also attempting to acquire guard Tyreke Evans from the Memphis Grizzlies.
Denver is sixth in the Western Conference at 29-25, but the Nuggets hold just a one-game lead over the ninth-place Los Angeles Clippers. While the Nuggets are somewhat lacking in star power, they have a ton of depth, which will allow them to dangle multiple trade chips at the deadline. Mudiay was the seventh overall pick in the 2015 draft, but he is strictly a bench player this season behind Jamal Murray and Gary Harris. While Mudiay's shooting has improved slightly this season to the tune of a .401 field-goal percentage and .373 three-point percentage, he is averaging just 8.5 points and 2.9 assists in 17.9 minutes per game.
Faried was once a consistent double-double threat, but he is averaging career lows across the board this season: 5.9 points and 4.8 rebounds in 14.4 minutes per game.
Chandler, while technically a starter, is just seventh on the team in scoring at 8.8 points per game. That puts him behind other wing options such as Will Barton and Trey Lyles.
With Harris, Murray, Nikola Jokic, Barton, Lyles and Paul Millsap (when he returns from injury in March) all contributing at a high level, the Nuggets can pool assets in hopes of landing a single impact player.
